Re: Connecting to MariaDB
If you you are using the code exactly as shown in your post, you are closing the database connection before you do anything. The connection must remain open when getting or writing data. If PHP closes the connection before reading database data to variables or arrays, nothing happens.

Re: Install TNG on a Synology NAS
403 Definition - The HTTP 403 Forbidden response status code indicates that the server understands the request but refuses to authorize it. This status is similar to 401 , but for the 403 Forbidden status code, re-authenticating makes no difference. The access is tied to the application logic, such ...

Re: Install TNG on a Synology NAS
Sorry for the delayed reply but it took a bit to figure out how to set up TNG on a LAN without LAN access using only a remote NAS. You cannot access http:/10.0.0.202/berksnames/readme.html from the WAN (internet) since it is a LAN address. This is why you need a VPN connection. However, you can stil...

To setup php 8.0 go to web station. PHP 8.0 should be listed if it is installed and running. If not go to the package center and install or set to run. /web_images/tng/tngsynology/php8-01.jpg Then select Script Language Settings. Re: Install TNG on a Synology NAS
So I have a question. Do you just want to access TNG locally or do you want to use an access portal?
If you use it locally you do not need to create a portal simply set the default backend version of PHP to 8.0

Re: Install TNG on a Synology NAS
Happy New Year to you too! First ensure external access to the web folder root is not public. If you have active websites, they should be in sub-folders inside the web folder. To check this, go to web station and select Web Service Portal. Active websites should be listed there. Look at the summary ...

Child Marriage Indicator Mod
When a user views a TNG getperson page, that individual's children are shown with a plus symbol if they have children. However, if they married nothing is shown. You must click on the child and load their page or the parent's descendant page to see if they married. This mod adds a symbol to let user...

Installing SSL certificates on a Synology NAS
Synology has an easy method to install certificates. I have found this method easier to use and certificates are not affected by upgrades, as can happen if you place them in the wrong place during a manual installation. Note these instructions apply to certificates you purchase from a third party ve...
